The love of a witch and a vampire is cursed from the beginning. There is said to be talk of a Legend, one who could destroy without hesitation any being, human or otherwise. Warning of The Legend has trickled down through history a painful reminder of why the two forces must stay apart. Danielle and Nathan, witch and vampire loved each other freely despite the warnings. They have had to keep their love a secret for many years or risk death. Danielle unable to go on without a reminder of her beloved, casts a spell to conceive a child. They name her Briana. Briana and Megan are best friends. Jason, Megan’s son lingers between life and death. Megan aware Briana’s miraculous way of healing herself asks her to heal Jason. Briana is sure Megan doesn't know the dire consequences this may have on the young boy. Briana herself is not quite sure what may happen, but does know Jason will not make it through the night without her. Briana knows nothing of her dad except the lies her mother has relayed. Knowing his daughter is in danger for trying to help the boy, he sends protection. His best friend Logan, is here to protect Briana, only one thing poses a problem he doesn't like witches. Logan must gain her trust in order to protect their species from discovery. And for Briana it is the only chance she has for Jason’s sake. J Gilbert has brought us a captivating story in Blood Hunt: The Legend. This remarkable story is one that will stay with you for quite a while and is not easily forgotten. Blood Hunt: The Legend is a must read for the year. This elaborate and invigorating story is one that will hold a reader in rapture from start to finish. Heartwarming and spine tingling and at times forlorn is the only way to express the myriad of emotions coming into play while entranced by this masterpiece. It is an excellent beginning of what I hope to be a promising new series. Once this book is started you will not want it to end. All the characters come to life as they are so vividly described, at times it is as if they leap out at you. Everyone in this book is a major character and very much a part of the complete story. One way or another you will come to love, hate, or feel sorry for the characters that are introduced. Each person in this tale plays their part to perfection. The emotions described can be overwhelming and heartfelt, J Gilbert does a brilliant job in showing the overall depth of each relationship introduced. Blood Hunt: The Legend has a very strong storyline to go with the boldness of its characters. The story is amazing in the fact that there is so much going on and yet its ability to retain the attention of the reader is not difficult. All the pieces fit together like a perfectly cut jigsaw puzzle. Reviewed by Joyce
