Cat Crawfield is a government assassin using her abilities as a human/vampire hybrid to kill the undead. She’s become so good at what she does, her reputation precedes her and it’s harder to lure her prey without being recognized. To complicate Cat’s life further, Bones, her vampire lover, has been targeted by a very old and powerful master vampire. In a life and death battle of epic proportions, Cat and Bones are directly in the middle of a vampire war where no one is safe. This series keeps getting better and better. Just when I thought Cat’s adventures would even out, they just got more extreme. While the action is non-stop excitement, what captivates me just as much is the relationship between Cat and Bones. The author takes them to a place of love and trust that continues to grow. The commitment they have for one another makes for the sexiest love scenes of anything I’ve read in a very long time. The third book in the series, At Grave’s End has built a detailed world and characters that mature along with it. New readers could probably start with this one, but it would be so much more fun to meet Cat and Bones from the start with Halfway to the Grave and One Foot in the Grave. The author has really done a fantastic job of keeping this series innovative. The characters are well established now, but she keeps slipping in little surprises for us along the way. Cat’s mother, the difficult, judgmental Justina, makes a surprising friendship that I laugh just thinking about. And the banter between Bones and his would be mother in law is just priceless. In a genre that has become very popular over the last decade, Frost has reignited paranormal fiction and staked out a place for herself as a must buy author. I’d give this book 6 Klovers if I could!
