True Foster is a thief-and a good one. She
doesn’t steal for the money, she steals for the thrill of it, and with every
robbery she has twice the thrill, as she breaks into the same place later to
replace what she’s stolen.
Noah Mitchell is True’s boss, and he makes it a habit never to get involved
with his employees. But there’s something about True that has him getting
ready to break his own rule-until the night he finds her in his home safe,
replacing the necklace she stole from him two weeks before. As punishment,
he hands her an ultimatum: if she can elude him in his own home until
midnight, she can go free. But Noah has no intention of letting her go free.
. .
Sydney Somers hits her usual perfect pacing with this brisk and breathless
short, full of slam-bang suspense and searing chemistry between the
principle characters. Here she hands us a spicy, saucy thriller with the
added bonus of a subplot, all within the framework of the story’s short but
oh so sexily sweet setup.
As always, her heroine is a straight up gal who pulls no punches and her
hero’s fog-up-your-glasses steamy, so keep a tissue handy. This is one
writer who knows her way around a story, and she’s always worth the time and
money. Highly recommended.
