Finding out she is dead just wasn’t on Jessica Ballinger’s top ten list at all! Never mind that her murderer has killed others and she’s now stuck as a ghost. Unfortunately, being a ghost is the least of her problems as a curse dating back to Lilith and the beginning of time is being unleashed. Hunky police officer, Deacon Chance, is able to see Jessica but will he be able to help her solve her murder? And what words of wisdom will Church, Deacon’s cat, have to share? I suppose I have to stop laughing long enough to write this review! After all, I want everyone to know about the very snarky and highly entertaining Jessica Ballinger and her talented creator, J Morgan! Jessica’s voice shines clearly through in this stunning tale. Her approach to life as a ghost and her observations on life in general will have the reader laughing out loud, sometimes to the point of tears. The conversations between the characters are nothing short of hysterical. J Morgan obviously knows her characters well, as even Church, the talking cat, is a well developed character. The romance between Jessica and Deacon is carefully built as J Morgan skillfully weaves together a hot romance with humor. J Morgan demonstrates just how powerful romance, comedy, and the paranormal can work together in GHOST OF A CHANCE. One can only hope that this is the start of a series as this reviewer would dearly love to see more of Jessica, Deacon, Church, and even the Sisterhood of the Smoking Chalice in future books. GHOST OF A CHANCE is highly recommended! Reviewed by Debbie |
