A ghost may bring them back together…. Amelia Pritchart’s world is crashing around her when the ghostly specter of Elizabeth Amelia Hiatt appears to her. Elizabeth has one night, All Hallow’s Eve, to assume human form and make peace for the past that has kept her holding onto this world since 1918. As if that isn’t enough to deal with, now Amelia’s soon to be ex-husband, Jonathan, is knocking on her door claiming he’s seen a ghost as well! Can all these broken hearts be healed this All Hallow’s Eve? Sandra Sookoo does a marvelous job at creating a spooky atmosphere! The first page sucked me into the story as I wanted to know more about this ghostly visitor. The flashes of the past with Elizabeth and Samuel are beautifully done and made me wish for more of their heartbreaking tale. Sandra Sookoo melds the past and present together seamlessly, as the reader easily switches between both stories. THE HAUNTING OF AMELIA PRITCHART is one of those wonderful tales that manages to deliver two love stories in one short story. I must admit that I enjoyed the flashes to Elizabeth’s life more so than the current day situation between Amelia and Jonathan. The intensity and emotion of Elizabeth’s plight is so poignant that one wants to ensure she has her happily-ever-after. Her willingness to wait through all time for love is an interesting contrast with Amelia’s situation and perhaps part of what endeared Elizabeth to me. Easily recommended! Reviewed by Debbie |
