Zoey and the crew at the House of Night are back for another blockbuster adventure. In this episode, Zoey faces a dark force so frightening that she freezes in terror. A new boy comes to the House of Night and an old flame returns. Aphrodite is back and the Priestess over all vampires comes for an extended visit after the deaths of two vampires have the school on the cusp of an all out war against humans. Can Zoey fight the dark powers that continue to gain strength? The House of Night series just keeps getting better and better! The return of past friends to the fold and the addition of some new, interesting personalities makes for a great “Scooby gang” and sets up the series for an exciting installment with the next book, Hunted, which is due out March 9th!!! Set your clock alarms NOW to be in line for it! After a slightly less appealing story in book 3 (Chosen), the Casts return to their top game with Untamed. Zoey continues to grow and mature as a character, and I really loved the addition of Sister Mary Angela and the Street Cats shelter. I hope the good Sister is going to play a significant role in the coming stories as well. Sister helps Zoey to see that people of other faiths are not the source of her problems, but can be strong allies that understand and offer more than she expects. I also really loved the deeper story line involving Zoey’s Cherokee heritage, and, of course, her awesome grandmother. Hang in there, Granny, because you are one awesome lady and we need you in future books! As with the other books in the series, we are left at the end with Zoey and her gang in a tough spot. The good news is that March 9th and Hunted is only a few days away. This is one series that MUST be read in order... but that’s a plus, because it is well worth your time to do so.
