Wade Cordell is given a cushy job in the hopes of coaxing him into the Bullet Catcher team. All he has to do is track down a woman on a Caribbean vacation and persuade her to meet her birth mother. Piece of cake, right?

Except, Vanessa Porter isn’t on vacation; she’s looking for a missing friend and has no intention of meeting the woman who gave her up at birth. But once she realizes that her friend may be in trouble, she strikes a bargain with Wade—help her find her friend and then she’ll let him take her to her birth mother. As Vanessa and Wade dig deeper into a tangle of deception, she’ll find the biggest risk isn’t to her life at all, but her heart.

Roxanne St. Claire’s talent never ceases to amaze me. She consistently delivers all the promise of a romantic suspense novel by creating an intricate blend of sensual love story with the heart-pounding action of a thriller.

I loved Vanessa’s tough Wall Street investment banker persona and her don’t-mess-with-me attitude that hides her soft, sentimental streak. She’s not afraid to take charge, and this makes for some very electrical moments between her and Wade. Though I felt as if the story never really got to the heart of Wade, I enjoyed the fact that he wasn’t the kind of man to casually get involved with Vanessa. So many times it is the hero who has the commitment phobia, so Wade’s insistence on a deeper connection with Vanessa was a fresh change from the norm.

THEN YOU HIDE is intriguing from page one, carrying on the interesting thread first brought in during the previous book, FIRST YOU RUN. With a sizzling romance, and a fast-paced, pulse-pounding mystery, readers will find themselves swept away to a sultry Caribbean island where both danger and love await. THEN YOU HIDE is the perfect summer read. Don’t miss it!
