Thirteen years ago Alex Fallon’s twin sister was found murdered, her body wrapped in a brown blanket and abandoned in a ditch. Now, a copycat killer is mimicking the murder with multiple killings of young women and Special Agent Daniel Vartanian must race to find out why before more victims are found dead.

Alex begins searching for her missing cousin only to discover that she is the target of the copycat killer. As Alex and Daniel become puppets in a psychopath’s game, they begin to fall in love. But Daniel is running out of time and must figure out the pieces of the puzzle before Alex becomes the killer’s final victim.

Karen Rose makes the leap into hardcover with this latest thriller and its easy to see why. SCREAM FOR ME is probably my favorite book by Karen Rose to date. Not only does Ms. Rose seamlessly weave together a complex thriller, she also gives readers a satisfying love story between two very sympathetic lead characters.

This book is like a roller coaster ride--fast paced nail biting tension mingles with exhilaration, its twists and turns drawing readers inexorably to the final heart-stopping climax. The storyline is a complex maze of seemingly disconnected pieces, and I guarantee that readers will be surprised by the eventual outcome. Nobody writes twisted villains like Ms. Rose. And yet, Ms. Rose manages to give them that hint of vulnerability that makes them real and gives them believable motivation.

SCREAM FOR ME is a must for fans of romantic thrillers. It’s a tale that is both frightening and complex, but in true romantic fashion, the book wraps up with a wonderful happy ending that hits the spot.
