How far would you go for vengeance?

Daria Moran’s whole life changed in an instant, and she holds the vampire (called the Chosen) Christopher Sante responsible. He betrayed her, murdered her friend, and then escaped justice only to establish his own society. Now, he’s accused of kidnapping a young woman and Daria will do anything, including changing her appearance and becoming one of the Chosen, to capture him. Chosen Alejandro Martinez is assigned to help her, but will the sparks flying between them distract them from their mission? Can Daria learn to love again?

THE CHOSEN SIN is multilayered. On the surface, it is a simple tale of revenge and a woman’s reawakening to love. But oh, it is so much deeper than that! Sante is a superb villain, a vampire who has given in to his impulses and family ties once before and betrayed all of those close to him. Is he redeemable? Better yet, do we want him to be redeemable? Anya Bast doesn’t make answering either question easy as she portrays a world that isn’t merely black and white but instead has so many various shades of gray.

Daria is the perfect heroine to go up against Sante. Her world has become solidified in terms of good and evil and Sante is the ultimate evil. Alejandro throws a kink into her worldview as he shows her both sides, his innate goodness warring with the more vicious side of the vampire. But it is Daria’s confrontation of Sante and the mixed bag that he offers that makes THE CHOSEN SIN stand out above so many other books.

However, Daria isn’t necessarily an easy character to like at times. Life and betrayal have shaped her and hardened her. Her rejections of Alejandro are at times brutal, highlighting her own inner pain and anguish. Still, Alejandro is determined to remind Daria of the value of love. Is she ready and willing?

THE CHOSEN SIN is a fantastic blend of the futuristic, erotic, and the vampire. Anya Bast demonstrates a unique flair at creating such an unusual and yet oh so captivating world populated with multidimensional characters. THE CHOSEN SIN is absolutely a must read!
