Tressa has just broken up with her boyfriend, and she’s in a nowhere job, working for a Leona Hemsley wannabe. Her life is crap. She finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her when she and her friend go out club-hopping. Drunk and angry, she and Carmen are taken home by a cop. A gorgeous cop, who seems interested in Tressa, and who gets chewed out for his trouble...and he thinks it’s cute! After performing a bad boyfriend exorcism, Tressa meets the cop again–as he’s investigating the robbery of the store where she works. Vance (that's his name) seems to still be interested in her, and they agree to date–only to see one obstacle after another crop up in the way. Not least, that Tressa gets sucked into the mysterious robbery of the lingerie shop where she works. A summary of this book does not do it justice. This author has a lightly humorous touch along the lines of MaryJanice Davidson, and she draws you into Tressa’s life with consummate ease. The characters are funny and touching and human, and the story reads like a-day-in-the-life of you or someone you know, but funnier and more interesting. Highly recommended. Reviewed by Lee M |
